Griffon Hoverwork Ltd’s expertise is not just limited to the production of fast amphibious hovercraft. There are many such commercial and industrial applications for the air cushion principle and Griffon Hovercraft Ltd leads the world in designing and building such unique solutions to satisfy their customers' particular problems.

CRICKET PITCH HOVER COVERS

We have produced hovering crop-sprayers (with hydraulically lowered wheels and sides so that they can travel on roads), hovering cricket-pitch covers (for Lord’s, Trent Bridge, Oval and Edgebaston Cricket Ground) and also a hovering reed-cutter for a company in Austria.

HOVER BARGES

In response to various enquiries regarding the moving of equipment to shallow water, soft land areas, Griffon Hoverwork Ltd have designed hover platforms (barges) capable of carrying loads from 30 tonnes to 125 tonnes. The platforms use many of the concepts developed by Griffon Hovercraft Ltd on their amphibious range of hovercraft, including marine grade aluminium hulls, diesel engines, lift power and segmented skirts.

CONSULTANCY

Griffon Hoverwork Ltd offer a consultancy service on all aspects of hovercraft operation including route analysis, task organisation and implementation, base and terminal planning, selection and training of crews, spares parts, service support and after sales services. We also offer consultancy service on all aspect design and research with regard to hover technology.
