Griffon Hoverwork buys Hovercraft Consultants Ltd

Griffon Hoverwork Ltd has recently purchased Hovercraft Consultants Ltd (HCL), a hovercraft skirt specialist based in Totton, Southampton.

Set up in 1991, HCL specialises in the design and provision of air cushion technology. By 2000 the company had acquired an international reputation for the design and manufacture of complex flexible structures and hovercraft skirts. Clients include the Swedish and Canadian Coastguards, Singapore and Auckland airports, as well as ExxonMobil Development Co.

Griffon Hoverwork and HCL have worked together for many years to provide GHL customers with the very latest in hovercraft skirt technology. Research has involved testing various skirt materials in a variety of climates, to ensure that Griffon hovercraft are fitted with a bespoke skirt that meets the client’s requirements.

Malcolm Cox, founder of HCL, will play an important role in the development of Griffon Hoverwork’s consultancy service. GHL currently offers extensive training and aftersales packages, as well as expert business advice on all aspects of running a commercial hovercraft service. The company has undergone rapid growth in the past 2 years and the purchase of HCL is a sign that GHL’s expansion is set to continue.

HCL will continue to operate at Totton until further notice.
