Based on the air cushion principle Griffon Hoverwork designs and builds bespoke air cushion solu…
Hovercraft are marine vessels which operate by creating a cushion of air between the hull of the vessel and the surface below. They are able to operate over almost any flat surface including shallow water, ice, vegetation, mud, logs and debris, rapids and flood plains.
Griffon Hoverwork has specialised in the development and manufacture of hovercraft for over 40 years. Our purpose is to enable our customers to engage in tasks in some of the most diverse and inaccessible areas of the world, from the jungles of South America to the frozen seas of the Baltic and Arctic. Tasks include search and rescue, border security, river patrol, flood and airport crash rescue, passenger ferry operations, survey work, cargo carrying missions and littoral military operations. Despite our customers' diverse requirements, they all have one thing in common - a need to access areas where conventional marine craft cannot go.
Our success is based upon our commitment to design and manufacture hovercraft that are adapted to the challenging environments that face our customers. We have developed a range of craft that support light, medium and heavy payload needs. All can be customised to meet different mission and environmental conditions.
Due to the specialised nature of hovercraft we provide a complete support solution. At the beginning of a project, we assist our customers to assess the routes and applications they are considering; we provide professional advice on the type and design of craft that is most appropriate; we provide comprehensive project reporting through the design and build phases and provide in-country commissioning, pilot and engineer training. All of our craft are backed up by a manufacturer's warranty. We offer support contracts that are professionally managed and audited against the principles of the high speed craft code.
